Good Practice Cases
Dissemination and information of good practice cases available in the South East Europe region and around Europe as well as around the world is one of the strategic objectives of the Centre for eGovernance Development for South East Europe.
Good practice cases have always been a recognized source of knowledge and information for further development in multiple social and political areas. The CeGD is fully committed to exploring, analysing and disseminating good practice cases in the field of eGovernance, particularly those that we understand as essential for the facilitation of SEE countries’ EU integration.
For this reason, in 2009 we began to develop a framework programme, which will support the process of good practice case gathering.
Good practice in the field of eGovernance
Good practice cases in the field of eGovernance can be understood as a cluster of solutions, knowledge and experience effectively and efficiently used in practice in one of the following areas:
- eGovernment,
- eDemocracy,
- eBusiness,
- eEducation, eResearch and eCulture,
- eHealth,
- eJustice, and
- eSecurity
A good practice case is not necessarily the best possible solutions in all aspects, but presents a framework, a basis for further development and individual projects in a certain area (see eGovernment Action Plan 2010, Government of Slovenia, 2006: 32).
Criteria for good practice cases
The CeGD will use a set of standardized criteria to evaluate, which of the good practices received from the SEE region will be showcased at CeGD events and listed in CeGD reports. A set of criteria (available to the expert and general public) will effectively assure the highest possible level of objectiveness in determining good practice cases.
As we have not yet developed the “in-house” criteria for good practice cases we hereby present (as o point of reference only) the criteria listed in the eGovernment Action Plan 2010 of the Republic of Slovenia. The official CeGD criteria will be available shortly.
