About the Centre for eGovernance Development, Ljubljana, Slovenia
Regional institution - Centre for eGovernance Development (CeGD) is a regional non-profit institution in a form of public – private partnership. It was founded in January 2008 by 8 stakeholders:
Government of Slovenia,
Regional Cooperation Council (RCC, Sarajevo),
United Nation’s Development Programme (UNDP),
INA Academy (Greece),
European Foundation (Spain),
Microsoft, Siemens and
SRC.SI from Slovenia.

Core activity of CeGD is coordination and organization of events for ICT education, research, knowledge transfer in the field of e-governance into the region of South East Europe (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Turkey).

With its activities CeGD supports the democratic development of the SEE countries, development of good governance and sustainable development within the target group countries. CeGD applies the model of 7 pillars:
e-governance: e-democracy, e-government, e-health, e-justice, e-education / e-research / e-culture in e-security.

Strategic objectives of CeGD
As it derives from Memorandum of Understanding the objectives of CeGD are:

  • I. To improve efficiency, democratic and economic processes

  • II. To support the eGovernance programs

  • III. To foster network of programs and nodes

  • IV. To create Institutional linkages/relationships

  • V. To bring about regional ownership

 


 


Mission
As a Public Private Partnership, the mission of CeGD in the field of eGovernance development is education & research, coordination of activities, transfer of knowledge.
 



Vision
Successful Development of Information Society in South East Europe (SEE) that will contribute to the future development of European continent.



Activities as response to the needs of the SEE region
The CeGD structures its activities into three general clusters:

  • CeGD Knowledge Platform is a basic tool for the transfer of knowledge

  • CeGD eGovernance Academy as an organizational umbrella provides training opportunities (seminars, workshops, trainings)

  • CeGD Projects support regional eGovernance programs:
